Alexander Cox, DMD, FAGD, started practicing dentistry with a simple mission: to empower every patient to live a happy, healthy life with a carefree smile. His dedication to providing patients with honest, conservative care has, once again, resulted in being named one of the Top Dentists of 2020 by Westchester Magazine. This year, he was one of only 305 dental professionals determined to be the best in the county. He first received the honor in 2009, shortly after opening Scarsdale Smiles, making this the 11th year in a row that he has received this distinction. By remaining steadfast in his dental philosophy, and with an intense commitment to furthering his education, he has continuously provided the community of Scarsdale with the best in family dentistry, and looks forward to doing so for many years to come.
Dr. Cox has always been interested in the science of making things functional and beautiful, and that’s what drew him to the field of dentistry. He graduated from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, (formerly known as the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey) before joining the United States Navy to finish out his residency. For two years, he served his country as a dentist aboard the USS Eisenhower, gaining clinical experience in all aspects of dentistry. In 2008, he began practicing in Westchester, before opening up Scarsdale Smiles, where he has been ever since. When he was awarded the FAGD (Fellowship of the Academy of General Dentistry), a designation only held by 6% of dentists, he was one of the youngest dentists ever to receive it.
He may be serious about dentistry, but he’s also serious about fostering a fun-loving and relaxed environment at Scarsdale Smiles. With a focus on gentle, comprehensive dentistry, he does his best to take the stress out of going to the dentist, and give his patients a reason to smile. Because of his extensive training and continued education, Dr. Cox is able to offer a wide array of services, from simple fillings, to dental crowns, veneers, implant restorations, and even total cosmetic makeovers. In his continued effort to provide an exceptional patient experience, he’s also invested in the latest technologies, like digital x-rays, intraoral cameras, a 3D scanner, and dental lasers.
If you haven’t heard, our office has relocated! Since our move in May 2020, the Scarsdale Smiles team has settled wonderfully into our new location. Designed with patient comfort and convenience in mind, the beautiful, more expansive new space is centrally located at 1 Palmer Avenue, right in the Balducci’s Plaza. Having a larger office means more room for the latest technologies and patient comforts, while making it easier to implement the safety enhancements and protocols needed for this unprecedented time. The office may have moved, but the dental team you know and love is still here. You’ll still be taken care of by the same dedicated team as always, so you can rest easy, knowing that your family will be treated with the personalized care you deserve.
